The Doctor is in...

Question #1: Should Derek Anderson be picked up? He did great for me two years ago. – Aaron, Bradley, MI

Aaron: Don't go crazy Aaron. Edge James did well for me two years ago and you don't see me picking him up. Remember one thing...don't get sentimental. Just because a guy won you a big fantasy game three years ago against your college roommate doesn't make him good today. Most guys are only as good as their last game. In Anderson's case, he is not even that good. In the immortal words of Jerry Seinfeld, "He's a chucker". Avoid.

Question #2: I know that the Dolphins picked up Thigpen, but does Chad Henne’s stock rise here? – Mavis, Stanford University

Mavis: I wouldn't get too excited about the Fins picking up Tyler Thigpen. He is backup material at best. Chad Henne was going to get the starting job next year for the Dolphins. He's not 100% ready just yet, but he will be a bit better than you expect. That said, he should not be starting on anyone's fantasy roster this weekend (unless Mrs. Henne plays roto).

Question #3: Darren McFadden seems to have fumbleitus. Do I bench him? – David, Ashford, AL

David: This would NOT be the week to bench McFadden. He is playing Houston...the home of good steak and crappy run defense. If he can't get it going this week then you should start to panic.

Question #4: Should I activate Kellen Winslow or Heath Miller this week? – Roger, Allentown, PA

Roger: Although I like Winslow more as a receiver, i think the play here is Heath Miller. The Chargers don't cover the TE exceptionally well and Miller should have some redzone opportunities. Tampa will struggle a bit this week with a new QB and a road crowd that will be chomping at the bit for a W.

Question #5: Do you see Fred Taylor as a 1,000 yard back this year? – Lamont, Royal City, WA

Lamont: No way. There are too many guys in the NE backfield and the Pats still like to throw it. I do think that you will see Fred have a few good weeks over the course of the season. Just hard to predict which ones will be good. Stay away this week as the Ravnes come to town.
